Who we are
Goa Nights is an independent nightlife information guide for Goa, India, published by Digibump (“we”, “us”), . We are the data controller — or, under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Data Fiduciary — for the personal data described here.

Goa Nights is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any venue listed in the app.
The short version
- You can browse the club list without signing in and without giving us anything.
- The only personal data that ever reaches our servers is your name, email and city-level location, and only after you sign in with Apple.
- Your favourites, your precise location and the result of the age check never leave your device.
- There are no analytics tools, no advertising, no trackers and no third-party SDKs of any kind in this app.
- We do not sell your personal data, and we never have.

Sign in with Apple
Signing in is optional for browsing the club list, and required to open a venue’s full details and to save favourites. When you sign in for the first time, Apple gives the app your name and your email address — which will be a private relay address if you chose “Hide My Email”. Apple provides these only on that first sign in.
We save them on your device at that moment and then lock them. They cannot be edited afterwards, by you or by us, and a later sign in will never overwrite them. We never receive or handle your Apple password.
Location
If you allow location access, your device uses your coordinates to calculate the distance between you and each venue. That calculation happens entirely on your iPhone. Your precise coordinates are never sent to us and never stored on our servers.
Once you are signed in, the app converts your coordinates into a city, state and country using Apple’s geocoding service, and those three values are saved to your profile and sent to our website. That conversion sends your coordinates to Apple, which handles them under Apple’s Privacy Policy.
You can refuse or withdraw location access at any time in iOS Settings. The app works without it; you simply will not see distances.
Age verification
Every venue in Goa Nights is age restricted, so the app confirms you are 18 or over before it opens.
On iOS 26 and later we use Apple’s Declared Age Range service. Apple returns only an age range — never your date of birth — and we record nothing but whether you passed. On earlier versions of iOS, or if Apple’s service is unavailable or you decline to share, the app asks you directly to confirm you are 18 or over.
In every case, the only thing stored is a single pass-or-fail result on your device. No age data is ever transmitted to us.
Reporting an error
Each venue page has a “Report an error” button. It opens a draft in your own email app, pre-filled with the venue name and what you selected. Nothing is sent until you press send in your email app, and you can edit or discard it first. When you do send it, we receive your message, the venue details and whatever email address your mail app sends from.
What we do not collect
Goa Nights contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising, attribution or tracking software, and no third-party code libraries. We do not build advertising profiles, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.
Why we are allowed to use this data
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, our legal bases are:
- Consent — for location access and for sending your profile to our website. You give it by allowing the permission or by signing in, and you can withdraw it as described below.
- Legitimate interests — for keeping venue information accurate, responding to your reports, and preventing abuse of the app.
- Legal obligation — for restricting an age-restricted service to adults.
Who else sees your data
We share personal data with no one, other than:
- Apple, which operates Sign in with Apple, Apple Maps and the geocoding service, under its own privacy policy. We never see your Apple ID credentials.
- Our website hosting provider, which stores the profile database on our behalf and acts only on our instructions.
- Authorities, if we are legally required to disclose something, and only to the extent required.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Our servers are located in India. If you use the app from outside that country, your profile data will be transferred there and protected by the safeguards described in this policy.
Links that leave the app
Calling a venue, opening directions, or tapping a website or Instagram link hands you over to Apple or to that third party, whose own privacy policies then apply. We have no control over, and take no responsibility for, how those services handle your information.
How long we keep it
- On your device: until you sign out, or delete the app. Signing out erases your profile and the app’s stored data from your iPhone immediately.
- On our servers: your profile record is kept until you ask us to delete it, or until the app is discontinued.
- Error report emails: kept while we verify the correction with the venue, then routinely deleted.
Deleting the app from your iPhone removes everything stored locally, but it does not delete a profile already sent to our servers. To remove that, email us as described below.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to ask us to: confirm what personal data we hold about you; give you a copy of it; correct it if it is wrong; delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; and withdraw a consent you previously gave. Under India’s DPDP Act you may also nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become incapacitated.
To exercise any of these, email digibump.in@gmail.com from the email address linked to your profile, or tell us the name you signed in with. We will respond within 30 days. There is no charge.
You can also act without contacting us at all: sign out in the app to erase your local data, turn off location in iOS Settings, or revoke the app’s access entirely under Settings → your name → Sign in with Apple.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you may complain to your data protection authority — the Data Protection Board of India, or your local supervisory authority in the EEA or UK.
Children
Goa Nights is for adults only. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and the app confirms your age before it opens. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
Security
Data sent from the app to our website travels over an encrypted HTTPS connection and is authenticated with a secret token. Access to the stored profiles is restricted to administrators of our website. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you and the relevant authority of a breach affecting your data where the law requires it.
Changes to this policy
If we change what the app collects or how we use it, we will update this page and change the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes. Continuing to use Goa Nights after a change means you accept the updated policy.
